The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 非常出色，甚至为了提防，连策划名都没给别人，导演和编剧搭档了蛮久了，从兴安岭猎人开始都看了一遍，前后无出其右，这部新的算是难度最大的，倒不是说比猎人剧作强度高，想要在口碑和收益上跟前作叫板，几乎是不可能完成的任务，结构上与其说有着罗生门的影子，到不如说复刻了猎人的套路，可以喻其为“民俗”项目的经典范式，十分值得学习
一群没任何名气的人，带着脚镣跳了一个中规中矩的舞，在大陆恐怖片里，算是优秀的，给三星，鼓励！
人善人欺天不欺，
没有狐狸精差评，我是来看狐狸精放松消遣的，导演给我看这么恐怖的人心。尤其是彩蛋让恶形成了首尾循环，让整个人类社会的现实都被揭露在眼前，一整天心情都沉重了。三星水平，冲国内网大中难得一见的水平多给一颗星。
丝丝和子役太像了，我好喜欢这个子役！明明剧情还挺曲折，但总觉得女主好冷静，她到底后不后悔？或者她到底开不开心啊？
每个镜头的出现都有理由，它们是两个主角每天摆脱不了的梦魇，它们就是因为挥之不去，才会过了十年了还什么都没变——那么地善良、那么地无所谓、那么的痛苦。
比鬼怪更恐怖的是人心，比人心更恐怖的是审查制度
整体无尿点的一部片子，但是越往后越跑题，可能导演想表达的太多，而且后面庙里吐白沫和开枪控制不住方向怎么解释？最后不得不说，盛冠霖长得真是太丑了，太畸形了，不用扮就像鬼👻
故事结局和反转不是那么难猜，但是很工整，讲的很真诚，挺好。大多演技一般般但也不是那么出戏，唯一不靠谱五官乱飞的，是按理说从小演戏的男主。。。真相大白时透出的人性之丑恶，令人作呕却并不觉得突兀。唉。国内电影单反对剧本有这么点认真程度，我们得少看多少烂片
总要破除迷信，鬼怪全在人心。
“罗生门”式的中国恐怖故事，意外地好看。剧情精彩，演技尚可，灵异部分的设定带感，还捎带手对人性进行了一把讽刺，四星表示支持！查了一下编剧是崔走召，《我当阴阳先生那几年》的作者，原来如此。希望网大都往这个方向卷。
女一 男二选本和演技大突破 探索喜欢的真谛 有被感动到
整體服化道及畫面都不錯，立意也好。大家都在認真演電影。
高分是给它的用心，网大拍成这样还要什么自行车？
据说口碑不错就来看看，毕竟网大电影，不该要求过高，但不得不说这种电影真没意思。把一些耳熟能详的故事整合，编成看似故事完整又有教育意义的电影，只适合小孩子看。探索恐怖电影在我国的可能性是值得表扬的，但这部显然已经偏离了恐怖的范围，可能委曲求全，或剧本本来就没单薄，发展和结局都甚是平庸无聊。
主旨就是善有善报恶有恶报 看完真的有点暗爽 四星给鼓励！
挺好看的！甚至狐狸洞那里一个大脑袋都有点吓人了！故事完整，很聪明的写法，看到最后心里很难受，一个警世喻言了。有被惊喜到。
绝对是非常优秀的网大啊，放到网大里完全可以打五星了，志怪故事对现实的折射，多线并行，虽说最后平行的圆满世界有一些平淡，但立意真的非常不错了，感觉比很多院线都强了。
觉得好看的人都没看过原著吧，去其精华自创糟粕。大相径庭 背道而驰 又臭又长！
我真是没啥东西可看 点开看了一会儿 剧情居然还可以 但是最后还得往人心比鬼可怕这个主题上靠感觉就卸力了
